1516 W CARROLL | MAXWELL TRADING RESTAURANT

Located on the ground floor of a former 1920s warehouse, Maxwell Trading is a restaurant that brings warmth and craft into an industrial shell. Designed by Converge Architecture as part of the larger 1516 adaptive reuse project, the space features custom millwork, natural materials, and an open kitchen that anchors the dining experience.

Street-facing windows and sidewalk seating connect the restaurant to the neighborhood, while a long communal table and built-in booths create an intimate interior rhythm. The design balances raw textures with refined details—celebrating the building’s history while making space for contemporary hospitality.

Whether for casual lunches or private dinners, Maxwell Trading is a neighborhood anchor and a reflection of what adaptive reuse can bring to street life.
